Abstract

The surgical approach to lentigo maligna is a challenge for dermatologists, given the difficulty in delimiting the edges of the lesion. The excision of visible borders with the spaghetti technique and paraffin-embedded sections has been used in the surgical management of lentigo maligna for a histopathological analysis of the edges before definitive tumor resection. The double-blade scalpel technique is proposed to optimize surgical time and obtain a more homogeneous sample, using the already available materials without increasing costs.
