Abstract

Lately, as a result of a enthronization of randomized controlled trials, product of noncontextualyzed consideration of the concept of scientific evidence, other information source has been disqualified. This is particularly relevant in Latin-America where the limited access to information, the scarce scientific production and its characteristics, induce to consider other forms of scientific production. A narrative review has been conducted using key articles form the literature as a result of a non systematic search of the literature and the personal archive of the authors about the use of observational studies as scientific evidence.
