Infiltrados pulmonares en los pacientes con cáncer: enfoque en urgencias

Resumen

Los infiltrados pulmonares en los pacientes con cáncer o en aquéllos en tratamiento con trasplante de médula ósea se asocian con una importante morbimortalidad. La causa principal es infecciosa hasta en 75% de los pacientes, y el pronóstico está directamente relacionado con el tiempo en que se inicie el manejo antibiótico. Se realiza una breve revisión narrativa de los principales aspectos epidemiológicos, fisiopatológicos, clínicos, pronósticos y terapéuticos de los infiltrados pulmonares en pacientes con cáncer, haciendo un énfasis especial en el manejo empírico y en la decisión del abordaje diagnóstico en el servicio de urgencias.
