De la infección tuberculosa al carcinoma escamoso pulmonar: un análisis de la respuesta inmune y la carcinogénesis

La relación entre infecciones crónicas y cáncer ha ganado importancia en la investigación biomédica. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), al persistir en el tejido pulmonar, modula la respuesta inmune y genera inflamación crónica, un factor clave en la carcinogénesis. Estudios recientes sugieren que sus proteínas tirosina fosfatasas (PTP) alteran vías de señalización intracelular, afectando procesos como proliferación, diferenciación y apoptosis. Estas enzimas interfieren con la fosforilación de proteínas en células inmunes y epiteliales, favoreciendo la evasión inmune y creando un entorno propicio para la transformación maligna. La inflamación sostenida activa rutas como NF-κB, JAK/STAT y MAPK, asociadas a la promoción tumoral. Además, la liberación constante de citocinas y factores de crecimiento contribuye a un microambiente tumorigénico, aumentando el riesgo de carcinoma de células escamosas. Esta revisión explora la evidencia sobre la interacción entre la respuesta inmune contra Mtb, el papel de las PTP y su potencial implicación en la carcinogénesis pulmonar.
